How to Use xTiles AI

xTiles AI is built directly into the app — there's no setup or activation required. As soon as you open xTiles, the full AI functionality is available by default, ready to help you generate, organize, and transform content instantly.

Where You Can Access xTiles AI

You can use xTiles AI in multiple places throughout the app, depending on what you want to create.

1. On Creative Pages (Canvas)

On any creative page, you can activate AI to generate or transform content directly on the canvas.

  1. Open or create a creative page.

  2. Click the AI button on the canvas (bottom left corner)

  3. Type your prompt — or insert text, links, or images.

  4. Specify the type of result you want (new content, structured notes, summaries, etc.).

  5. The AI will automatically create the content on your page.

2. Using AI From the Homepage

From the homepage, you can use xTiles AI to generate a completely new project:

  1. Select "Create new project"

  2. Input a prompt or paste content

  3. xTiles AI will automatically build a full project for you based on your instructions

3. On a Specific Tile

You can also access xTiles AI directly from a single tile.

  1. Select any tile — a small toolbar appears in the top-right corner.

  2. Click the sparkle icon ("Generate with AI").

  3. The AI input opens, with the tile's content automatically available as embedded content.

  4. Type additional instructions if needed, then generate.

Types of Content You Can Use in xTiles AI

xTiles AI can handle a wide range of inputs and turn them into clear, organized, and actionable output. You can attach different types of content and guide the AI with any prompt to achieve your specific goals or bring your ideas to life.

Let's take a closer look at the types of content you can input into xTiles AI and see how the tool can help you organize, enhance, and visualize each one:

1. Text

  • Structure or rewrite any text you input

  • Organize messy notes

  • Turn AI responses or any pasted text into clean visual notes

  • Summarize, expand, or outline information

2. Documents (PDF, TXT, and more)

  • Upload documents

  • AI will extract, summarize, organize, or visualize the content

  • Useful for research, meeting notes, study materials, and reports

3. Links

  • Insert a public webpage link

  • AI can summarize, pull key insights, or restructure content

  • Works great with Wikipedia pages, news articles, blog posts, etc.

4. Images

  • Upload an image (like a photo of handwritten notes or a whiteboard)

  • AI automatically recognizes the text and converts it into clean, editable content inside xTiles

  • Perfect for digitizing physical notes

5. Voice Input

  • Tap the microphone icon in the AI input field

  • Speak your prompt or content out loud

  • Tap Confirm to turn your speech into text, then Generate to create your content

  • Great for capturing ideas without typing

6. Embedded Tiles

  • Attach an existing tile directly into the AI input as extra reference content

  • Works like attaching a file — AI gets full context of the tile without retyping or copy-pasting anything

  • Combine it with your own prompt for extra guidance

7. Coming Soon: Video

  • You'll be able to upload videos

  • AI will automatically transcribe, summarize, and structure the content

Choosing Where AI Generates

Once you've given AI a prompt or content, you choose where the result should go using a single dropdown menu in the AI input. There are four options:

1. New Project

Create a brand-new project from scratch by giving AI any text, prompt, or content. The newly created project will appear in the workspace where your original project was initially located.

2. New Page

Provide content or a prompt, and xTiles AI will generate a new page based on it.

3. Current Page

Insert your text, prompt, link, or file and let AI add new content to the current page.

4. Current Tile

AI updates the content of a selected tile

To use this option, either select the tile you want AI to work on, or open the AI input directly from that tile using its toolbar (see On a Specific Tile above)

Capture Ideas by Voice — No Typing Needed

Don't feel like typing out a long prompt or a wall of notes? Just say it out loud instead — xTiles AI will turn your speech into a structured tile, page, or project.

Step 1 — Open the AI input

Open the AI input from the canvas, homepage, or inside a project (see the sections above).

Step 2 — Tap the microphone icon

Look for the microphone icon inside the AI input field and tap it to start recording.

Step 3 — Speak your idea naturally

Talk the way you would to a person — no need for a "perfect" prompt. For example: "Make me a packing list for a 5-day trip to Lisbon, grouped by category."

Step 4 — Confirm and review the transcription

When you're done speaking, tap Confirm — your audio is converted into text. You can review the result and edit it if AI misheard anything.

Step 5 — Press Generate

Once the text looks right, tap Generate. xTiles AI creates a structured tile, page, or project based on what you said.
