How to Connect xTiles to ChatGPT

You can connect xTiles to ChatGPT to let AI take actions directly in your workspace — without switching between apps. Describe what you need and ChatGPT handles it inside xTiles.

Through this connection, ChatGPT will be able to:

  • Read content from your projects

  • Read and write to your Planner

  • Create, update (schedule, assign members and priority), and delete tasks

  • Search projects and users

There are two ways to connect. Method 1 is the fastest. Choose Method 2 if you'd rather set things up manually.

Connect through xTiles

Method 1 — Quick connect (recommended)

This is the fastest way to connect, using a direct link to the ready-made xTiles connector.

  1. Click the connect link: Connect xTiles to ChatGPT

  2. The xTiles plugin window opens in ChatGPT. Click Connect.

  3. Sign in with your xTiles account.

  4. Enable the xTiles connector in your chat (see below), then try a prompt.

Method 2 — Manual connect (custom connector)

Use this method if Method 1 doesn't work for you, or if you prefer to set things up manually.

Setting the connection up step by step:

  1. In ChatGPT, go to Plugins and click the "+" near the search bar.
Shortcut: Open custom connector setup to skip straight to this screen.

  2. Configure the connector:

    • Name: xTiles

    • Server URL (Connection): https://mcp.xtiles.app/mcp

    • Check "I understand and want to continue"

    • Click Create

  3. On the next screen, click Sign in with xTiles.

  4. Enable the xTiles connector in your chat (see below), then try a prompt.

Enable the connector in your chat

In any chat, click the "+" button on the left side of the input, hover over "More," and make sure the xTiles connector is selected for that chat.

Or simply type @xTiles in the message field to add it directly.

Test your connection

Start a new chat, confirm that the xTiles connector is enabled, and try this prompt:

"What projects do I have in xTiles?"

If ChatGPT lists your projects, you're all set!

From here, you can ask ChatGPT to read, organize, and update your workspace. Here are a few prompts to try:

  • "Show me all tasks I have due this week in xTiles"

  • "Create a task in my [project name] project for tomorrow"

  • "Summarize the content of my [project name] project"

  • "What did I add to my Planner today?"
