What is a Task Collection
Task Collection gives you a database-style view of your tasks - go beyond a simple list and filter, group, sort, and create custom views to manage your work exactly the way you need.
How to Access Task Collection
Click the task icon in the top-right corner of your workspace to open the Task panel. At the top of the panel, switch from Task List to Task Collection.
Global vs Project Task Collection
Task Collection has two scopes depending on what you need:
Global Task Collection — shows all tasks across every workspace and project in xTiles. Useful for a complete picture of everything on your plate.
Project Task Collection — shows tasks from one specific project only. Still accessible as a system page inside any project. Useful for focused project-level management or when working with a team on a single project.
Task Collection appears automatically in a project as soon as the first task is created — no setup needed. If you've hidden it or want to re-enable it manually:
Go to your project.
Click the small down arrow next to the "+ New" Page button at the top of the project.
In the System Tabs window that appears, toggle Tasks on.
Views
Task Collection comes with several built-in views:
All Tasks — every task in scope
To-Do — active tasks that still need completing
Completed — tasks already marked done
Calendar — tasks displayed by due date on a calendar
Board by Assignee — Kanban-style board organized by assignee, useful for tracking team workload
You can also create your own custom views using existing properties — click + New View at the top of Task Collection to get started.
Properties and Filtering
Within any view you can sort, filter, and group tasks by any property — for example, show only High priority tasks, group by assignee, or filter by due date range. This makes Task Collection useful not just for viewing tasks but for actively managing and delegating work.
Task Properties
When you expand an individual task inside Task Collection, you'll see its full properties. Click the down arrow to see how properties are configured at the local project level vs the global level.
